The UOW Big Ideas Festival is a showcase of the University’s ground-breaking research from our outstanding researchers. This free event for the community sees some of University of Wollongong’s newest Professors present a 8-10 minute talk on their big research idea – on the stage of the University Hall in a language everyone can understand.

The event will feature 10 Professors giving short talks on their big ideas related to their field of research. Topics include the importance of green spaces in our cities, financial literacy, diseases of the brain, the importance of purple coloured foods, delirium vs dementia, educational inequalities and more.

Guest speaker Emeritus Professor Maree Smith AC from the University of Queensland will also feature at the event speaking about the unmet medical need driving novel pain-killer discovery and development.
